The TinyMCE Advanced plugin adds more than 40 new buttons to the default WordPress web editing toolbar.

Some of the advanced features are:

  • Support for making and editing tables
  • Advanced link dialogs and options
  • Search and replace

Activating the TinyMCE Advanced toolbar

This plugin will add new buttons to the default WordPress web editing toolbar while also rearranging some of the default buttons.

  1. Click the Plugins section in the Dashboard.
  2. Click the Activate link below the TinyMCE Advanced plugin.

Customizing the TinyMCE Advanced toolbar

  1. Click the Settings section in the Dashboard.
  2. Click TinyMCE Advanced. The “Editor Settings” page will display.
    1. Add buttons and toolbars to the web editing toolbar by dragging them from the lower section to the gray bars above.
    2. Reorder buttons and toolbars by dragging them to the desired location on the gray bars.
    3. Remove buttons and toolbars from the gray bars by dragging them to the lower section.
  3. Click the Save Changes button.
