What is lynda.com?

lynda.com is an online training library that consists of thousands of videos on technology related topics. Videos are broken into small segments (most range from 1-5 minutes) and are based on a particular topic or skill. Tutorials are available for all popular applications, including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Products (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), AutoCAD, Final Cut Pro, Google Docs, Moodle, WordPress, GarageBand and many more.

How do I access lynda.com?

Access lynda.com by visiting lynda.lafayette.edu. Use your Lafayette Network ID and Password to login.

I went directly to lynda.com, why doesn't my login work?

You must access the lynda.com training by going to lynda.lafayette.edu. You will have full access to the system, but you need to enter this way instead of going directly to lynda.com.

Can I use lynda.com at home?

Yes. lynda.com can be accessed from work, home, or anywhere you have an internet connection by going to lynda.lafayette.edu. Training videos are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Can I become certified in a particular subject by using lynda.com?

Upon completion of a course, you will receive a certificate that is viewable online, downloadable, or emailable to anyone. All lynda.com courses are eligible for earning Certificates of completion.

Can I use lynda.com on my iPad or iPhone?

Yes. Download the iPhone/iPad app available from the App Store. On the login screen, click the "Web portal log in" button and type in https://lynda.lafayette.edu in the URL field. When you click Submit you will be prompted to enter your network ID and password for access to your lynda.com account. Detailed steps are available here. You can also access the online software library on any mobile device by logging in at lynda.lafayette.edu.

How can I request new topics for Lynda.com?

Locate the Contact Us link in the footer of the lynda.com website, and in the Department dropdown, select "New Course Requests". This form goes directly to lynda.com and they can direct you to the right title or add your suggestion to their list of potential titles to cover next.
