Getting started with a WordPress site at Lafayette

WordPress is a Web editing platform used at Lafayette to make the creation and management of Web sites a relatively simple task. Every department, office, organization, and individual is eligible to create a WordPress site. For more on site types, see the Web Site Accounts policy.

Submitting your request

To request a WordPress site, complete the Web site request form.

Logging into your WordPress site

WordPress uses the Network ID credentials for authentication. Where you log in depends on where your site is hosted. Lafayette is running two instances of WordPress—one for offices and departments and another for organizations and personal sites.

Logging in to a departmental/office WordPress site

  1. Visit http://depts.lafayette.edu
  2. Log in using your Network ID and password.
  3. Click the Dashboard link to access your site's "Site Admin" screen.

Logging into an organizational or personal WordPress site

  1. Visit http://sites.lafayette.edu
  2. Log in using your Network ID and password.
  3. Click the Dashboard link to access your site's "Site Admin" screen.
