Customizing Access to Materials in Moodle

Want to control who sees what? You can customize access to specific activities, resources, and even whole course sections by setting conditions in their individual settings.

Managing Access to Course Materials

Access can be customized by navigating to the “Restrict access” settings in a particular activity or resource, as well as within Sections. This setting is especially helpful for instructors who need to give student accommodations to materials or assessments in the course, need to separate content based on groups of students, or more. Restrictions can be based on:

Activity completion
Date
Grade
The group or grouping the students are in
The user profile fields.

The ‘Restriction set’ button also allows for more complex criteria requiring nested conditions.
