Managing Access to Course Materials

Access can be customized for a particular activity or resource, as well as within Sections.

Why would I control access to course materials?

This setting is especially helpful for instructors who need to give student accommodations to materials or assessments in the course, separate content based on groups of students, or more. For example, you can grant a specific student additional time or extra attempts on a Moodle quiz without changing the rules for the rest of the class.

What controls can I set?

Restrictions can be based on:

• Activity completion
• Date
• Grade
• The group or grouping the students are in
• The user profile fields.
• Restriction set: This button allows for more complex criteria requiring nesting conditions.
