Panopto offers a number of advantages over Kaltura, including:

  • Enhanced Functionality: Panopto provides a more user-friendly interface and a wider range of features, making it easier to create, edit, and share videos.
  • Improved Accessibility: Panopto offers greater accessibility features, including automatic captioning and transcripts, which will benefit everyone using our video platform.
  • Seamless Integration: Panopto integrates seamlessly with our existing learning management system (Moodle/Spaces), making it easy to incorporate videos into your courses.

We will be phasing in the transition to Panopto starting in late May. We understand that switching to a new platform may require some adjustments.  To help ensure a smooth transition, we will be providing a variety of resources for students and employees at Lafayette.

In the meantime, you can learn more about Panopto by visiting their website at https://www.panopto.com/ as well as the Panopto Support site.

We believe that this new platform will provide a more robust and user-friendly experience for everyone at Lafayette.
