The College has deployed a number of WolfVision Cynap devices in numerous spaces around campus to allow for wireless casting to the screen from your iOS, OS X, Windows, or Android devices.

Cynaps are available for use in the following spaces:

  • Alpha: 312
  • AEC: 208, 234, 236, 242, 317, 400, 513, 515, 517
  • Pardee: 28
  • RISC: 102, 104, 130, 134, 203, 211, 230, 234, 260, 262, 267, 301, 302, 304, 309, 330, 332, 360, 362, 409, 430, 434, 460, 462, 470, 504, 512, 530, 534, 562, 570
  • Williams: 208

Instructions for Wireless Projection

iOS Devices

  1. On your iOS device, open Control Center (swipe up from the bottom of screen or down from upper-left depending on OS version)
  2. Make sure both Bluetooth and Wifi are turned on.
  3. Tap Screen Mirroring. (labeled AirPlay on older OS’s)
  4. Tap the name of the device you want to stream content to – e.g. Cynap-<room name>.
  5. Enter the 4-digit access code (shown at the top of the Cynap splash screen)

OS X Devices

  1. Make sure both Bluetooth and Wifi are turned on.
  2. Click on the Displays icon in the menu bar. (If you don’t see the icon, go to System Preferences > Displays, then select “Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available.”)
  3. Choose AirPlay to: Cynap-<room name>
  4. Enter the PIN (shown at the top of the Cynap splash screen)

–OR–

  1. Make sure both Bluetooth and Wifi are turned on.
  2. Open System Preferences
  3. Select Displays
  4. Choose the Cynap from the dropdown list labeled AirPlay Display:
  5. Enter the 4-digit access code (shown at the top of the Cynap splash screen)

Windows Devices (using vSolution Cast)

  1. Download vSolution Cast and save the file to your Desktop (you only need to do this once per computer).
  2. Open vSolution Cast.
  3. Turn off Auto Search by clicking the slider.
  4. Enter the IP address (located in the upper-left corner of the display) of the Cynap to which you want to connect 139.147.xxx.xxx and press [SEARCH].
  5. Click the star on the right-hand side to save this Cynap to your Favorites.
  6. Click the Play button to start session.
  7. Enter the PIN (shown at the top of the Cynap splash screen) and click the checkmark.
  8. Select a screen (your desktop, extended desktop, any open applications) and click the checkmark.

Android Devices

Because there are so many differing implementations of Android OS, the following are general guidelines. The exact method and terminology differs depending on your device/manufacturer.

Note: Devices manufactured by Google will likely require the Google Cast option or may not work because Google disables the other protocols on Google-branded devices.

Miracast is available on Android devices with 4.2 and newer versions of Android

  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Under the Device section, tap Display. Scroll down on the Display screen and tap Cast Screen.
  3. Tap the Menu button at the top of your screen and select Enable wireless display. Your phone will scan for nearby Miracast devices and display them in a list under Cast Screen. The Cynap device should appear in the list.
  4. Tap the device to connect and enter the 4-digit PIN code (displayed on the top of the Cynap screen).

You can also cast from the Quick Settings screen if you’ve enabled the wireless display feature under Cast Screen. Pull down with two fingers from the top of your screen to open Quick Settings, tap the Cast Screen button, and you’ll see a list of nearby devices.

Google Cast

  1. Open a Chromecast-enabled app.
  2. Tap the Cast button.
  3. Tap the device you’d like to cast to.

Chromecast-enabled apps

  1. Open a Chromecast-enabled app.
  2. Tap the Cast button .
  3. Tap the device you’d like to cast to.
  4. When you’re connected, the Cast button will turn color, letting you know you’re connected.
  5. To stop casting, tap the Cast button > Disconnect.
