Can't find a course you're expecting in Moodle? Here we provide quick solutions and troubleshooting tips for both faculty and students to help locate and access missing Moodle courses.
I’m an instructor and can’t find my Moodle course
- Check your Moodle Dashboard settings. Ensure you can view future courses, or “In Progress” courses if the semester has already started.
- Verify the course appears in Banner Self-Service. If it appears in Banner but not in Moodle, wait an hour for the systems to sync. If the course still does not appear after an hour, email the Help Desk at help@lafayette.edu.
- If the course does not appear in Banner Self-Service, ask your department head or program chair to verify that the Registrar lists you as the instructor of record.
If you can see your course in Moodle, but your students cannot:
- Check the course visibility. Grey text in your course list means the course is hidden from students.
- If only one student cannot see the course, the Registrar’s Office is likely still processing their request to add the course. If the student needs immediate access, you can manually add them.
