In collaboration with Human Resources and the Office of the Provost, ITS is here to facilitate a seamless onboarding or offboarding experience for Faculty and Staff.
This process, known as the “Account Workflow“, starts with the Office of the Provost for faculty and Human Resources for staff.
ITS will create network credentials or disable an account based on the information provided in the “Account Workflow”.
ITS will forward new faculty and staff credentials to the hiring supervisor noted in the “Account Workflow”.
ITS will disable faculty and staff credentials based on the “Account Workflow” information and the college’s account creation and termination policy.
Human Resources and the Office of the Provost offer extensive toolkits and guidance for a wide range of employment-related topics such as interview best practices, performance evaluations, professional development and onboarding and offboarding of employees.
Once the “Account Workflow” has process started, ITS will receive notification of your employee’s start date.
We will reach out to the stakeholders to understand the technology requirements of your new employee and schedule a session for the installation and setup of their Lafayette computer.
On the scheduled installation date, we will offer insights into their computer, our technology ecosystem, and address any inquiries they might have regarding ITS and the support services we offer.
Essentials
Remembering all of the details can be quite the challenge. To help, we've carefully curated a list of IT essentials we think will be beneficial for both you and your new employee.
Offboarding
Once the “Account Workflow” process started, ITS will receive notification of your employee’s end date.
ITS will reach out to the stakeholders with a checklist of tasks to consider before their end date.
Email & Voicemail
The departing employee should set an out of office reply, letting contacts know they are leaving the College. The auto reply should include the approved contact information for your department.
Update your employees voicemail greeting to reflect their departure.
In certain circumstances, you may want to set an auto-reply and/or mail forward for your departing colleague. Please Submit a Help Request and our Google Workspace Team can help.
ITS will ensure that any personal data is removed from their computer.
Computer & Device Collection
Departing employees will likely return their college-issued computer during their off-boarding meeting with Human Resources. If that meeting does not take place, leave the equipment in the employee’s office. User Services will coordinate with the supervisor to pick it up.
Equipment funded through a grant requires review by the Office of the Provost to determine whether it remains with the College or is available to the departing faculty member.
