When will I lose access to my Lafayette Google account?
Alumni retain their Lafayette Google account until the February following their graduation. This includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and other Google Workspace services.
Update your contact information
If you have used your Lafayette Gmail account for other services such as your LinkedIn account or as an email contact for graduate school applications or on resumes you will want to update your contact information to use a personal email address.
Add an alternate email address before you go!
If you do not have an alternate email address set up or need to update your current one, see the Manage your Alternate Email section for more information. Your alternate email address is used to reset your Lafayette password should you lose access.
Do I get a Lafayette alumni email address?
Yes, you can sign up to have an alumni forwarding address following the instructions on the Alumni Email Forwarding help page.
Can I take my email or Google My Drive content with me?
Can I transfer ownership of Google Drive content to someone else at Lafayette?
Yes, you can transfer the ownership of a Google My Drive file or folder to someone else at Lafayette such as a file created while assisting a professor with their research. Use the instructions found on Change the owner of a Google Drive file.
What should I do about Google Shared Drives that I manage?
If you are the manager level role for a Google Shared Drive, make sure that there is another person with the manager level role on the drive. If necessary, add a new manager following the instructions in the “Add members and set access levels” on the Getting Started with Google Drive help page.
